What You Will Learn and Why You Should Attend . . .
The long awaited and much
anticipated FAMILY LAW UNIVERSITY returns on February 8, 2008 as MICPEL
and the MSBA Section of Family & Juvenile Law present the 2008 Winter Term of
the Family Law University. This year “It’s All About the Kids.”
Designed for both newer and more experienced family practitioners, the 2008
Family Law University will focus on the myriad
issues facing the lawyer who represents families with children.
In the opening plenary session, an outstanding panel of highly regarded mental
health professionals will offer their expertise, insight
and advice. They will discuss their roles in assessing and addressing the mental
health issues of children, from the performance of
the initial evaluation to the therapeutic methods employed in treatment. In the
second morning plenary session, seasoned and
successful family law litigators and respected judges who are very familiar with
presiding in family law cases will present a mock
trial illustrating how children’s mental health issues should be addressed in
the courtroom.
In the afternoon, there will be two separate tracks to offer registrants a
choice of a wide variety of timely topics that are commonly
encountered in a family law case involving children. Knowledgeable and
experienced masters, lawyers and social workers will cover
the most critical aspects and the most important new developments in several key
areas: parent coordination; the role of the best
interest attorney; adoptions; grandparent visitation/third party custody; child
support & health insurance; and collaborative law
practice.
As always, networking opportunities will abound and attendees will be able to
save 15% to 30% to 50% on MICPEL’s complete
library of family law practice publications. So, enroll now for the 2008
Family Law University on February 8, 2008 in Columbia,
Maryland.
If you are currently handling a family law case or plan on entering the family
law arena this program is a MUST! We look forward
to seeing you there!
