Scholarships & Reduced Fee Registrations for Pro Bono Volunteers
MICPEL supports the work of public interest lawyers and encourages pro bono public service by the private bar through the donation of scholarships and reduced fee registrations for MICPEL courses. These scholarships and reduced rates are available through the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC). Attorneys who volunteer to accept a pro bono case for a legal services agency through PBRC, as well as full-time legal services attorneys (employed by the Legal Aid Bureau or any other public interest organization funded by the Maryland Legal Services Corporation) are eligible for these scholarships and reduced fee registrations. Please call PBRC at 410-837-9379 or 1-800-492-1964) to apply for a scholarship or reduced fee registration. (All scholarships/reduced fee registration applications must be made through PBRC, at least one week in advance of the course you wish to attend. There are a limited number of scholarships and reduced fee registrations for each course.)
MICPEL and PBRC also co-sponsor the Bridge the Gap Series, which are reduced fee trainings offered throughout the year. For information on these programs, contact the Pro Bono Resource Center, or visit their Web site: www.probonomd.org.
