What is the CLE requirement for attorneys barred in Maryland?
Maryland is one of the few non-mandatory CLE states. There is no continuing education requirement for attorneys barred in Maryland. However, many attorneys do find it worthwhile to attend seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the law. MICPEL is a completely self-supporting, nonprofit educational institution whose mission is to provide Maryland attorneys with the information they need at a reasonable price. The faculty for our seminars are attorneys and judges who volunteer their time to share their expertise. They offer not only updated information, but also invaluable practice tips from their own experience.
Do MICPEL seminars meet the MCLE requirements for attorneys barred in states other than Maryland?
MICPEL is an accredited CLE sponsor with the MCLE administrators of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. MICPEL courses are routinely approved for MCLE credit in other MCLE states in the U.S. If you need CLE credit in another state for your attendance at a MICPEL seminar, we can provide you with a uniform certificate of attendance for filing in that jurisdiction. Certificates of attendance are issued at the end of the course. MICPEL's courses are also routinely approved for continuing professional education (CPE) credit by agencies in Maryland and other states that administer mandatory CPE requirements for other licensed professionals.
